the opening band was Jimmy Eat World, who i had never listened to b4 the show!! they were AMAZING. i loved 'criminal energy' and 'lucky denver mint'. i was with my dad so i didnt talk to many people before the show, we got there pretty late but because it was night 2 general admission wasnt too full, we had a decent view of the stage. Gerard Way was dressed as a secretary, with a blazer, pencil skirt, stockings, heels, white contacts, and fake blood. the set was SO COOL, it looked like a post-apocalyptic city with crumbling buildings and a rat extermination sign. there's something so cathartic about thousands of emos screaming along to 'Mama. i got a vampie mansion shirt and even my dad got slightly dressed up (black sea shepherd shirt lol).

i got a tour shirt and a pin from the merch stand, and got a bunch of kandi :3 everyone was so nice, people were sharing umbrellas, water, and snacks (it was 37 degrees if i remember right), and we all listened to music outside the show and talked. the concert itself... OMG. it was magical. there was confetti, and fake notes, and sparks, and COSTUME CHANGES. and the backdrop was STUNNING it looked like stained glass. Needless to say my voice was gone by the end.

One of my fave bands OF ALL TIME. I swear to GOD every song is a banger, and I am obsessed with their image through every album cycle!!
Went to see them live and OH MY GOD I went FULLY FERAL!! I got to Qudos Bank arena at 7:30 with my mum and we made few friends, the one we were with all day was named Caitlyn. Some girl came up to me, who I now know is a concert junkie, and starting writing numbers on the back of people's hands. I was #2 for the BVB meet and greet. it was SO HOT, getting up to 37°C! Thank god it was cloudy - I still got so sunburnt that I peeled for a week, but it was worth it!!! while we were waiting we did makeup, made bracelets, chatted to people; I didn't talk to as many people as I usually do but still had fun :)
when the time came to actually join the line (we had left bags at the front of the line as soon as they had set up the barricades so we didn't have to line up all day) it was HOT. I met some people in line who were super cool, when I told them I was trans and my preferred name one of them said "I dont care what you are, as long as you're a Black Veil Brides fan". I love this fanbase.
Walking into Qudos Bank after standing in 40° weather was an ethereal experience - I have never appreciated air conditioning more in my entire LIFE. We were in the foyer waiting to be let into the meet and greet room when we heard a sound check for Knives and Pens - we were all singing along and talking to one another excitedly. Lining up and talking to all the people who were black veil brides fans was super fun - I was 2nd in line and making stupid jokes with the first like "It's them. The brides. With the black veils". I also saw someone with super cool emo rubber bracelets and dressed like they had just been to hot topic. THEN THEY WALKED INTO THE BUILDING... The energy was CRAZY!! The meet and greet wasn't very long, but I gave Andy Biersack (the lead singer) a painting I had done and he said I was "very talented" :D!!! I met with my front-of-line people back outside in the foyer and we were all like "did that really just happen?" and talking about how we were all so starstruck we couldn't get our words out. After that we had some time to kill before they lead us to the arena, so I went to the merch stand and talked to a few friends I made, who convinced me to get a $50 bleeders cap - it didn't take much persuasion. Then we went down to the venue.
SET LIST:
I was right up against the barricade losing my mind!! The person next to me at the barricade recorded all the songs for me which was super sweet, the video quality was significantly less shakey than anything I would have taken in my excitement, but my screaming and singing was still significantly louder than the band in the videos lol. Andy Biersack waved at me during bleeders, and Jake Pitts kept looking over to me, and threw his guitar pick at me!! After their set, security was handing out the three or four setlists and everyone around me was pointing to me and shouting to security to give me one. AND THEY DID!!! I started fully sobbing. I also gave a bunch of kandi to different people - I was on cloud nine!
